lyrics

While the world is getting off, I'll be standing at attention.
Searching to see if our reality is just a prop room with projections.

But all is exactly what it seems, Cause if it weren't, it wouldn't be.
Though I'm no butcher and your no surfer, we can cook in hot dog water.

And that's when you'll notice all the shadows
Are released once inside the shade.
It's unknown to their respective owners
Who never taught their shadows to behave.

Like a boy-king with too much responsibility
Like a country without history

So, I will be the chaperone of the shadows.
If they would only listen to me.
This duty wouldn't hurl me into bellows
But I shall be fair, though will not always please.

So from the start I'd had enough, with all that reprimanding.
My point was so strong, my index finger bone would tear right through the skin.

And the music's playing soft, and the condoms slipping off
Celebrating their new-found freedom, they'd run off to make love.

And then they'd give birth to the clouds
That struggle for power as they hover
Until we all stand in eternal shade
It's just the kind of trouble they will make.

And chocolate is the flavor of fertility
Like a doggy in a race.

When Pinoccio was lying to Ghapetto
His nose would grow till it poked out of his cage
But a skin growth is no way to judge your fellow.
An aid it is, but not a worthy gauge.

So I must be the chaperone of the shadows
If they would only listen to me.
This duty wouldn't hurl me into bellows
But I shall be fair, though will not always please.
